10 Health Reasons to Wear the Proper Bra


#1 Pain. It is estimated that more than 50% of women experience breast pain when exercising. Insufficient support leads to chronic back, shoulder and neck pain and headaches. It is not linked to the size of a woman’s breasts.*1

#2 Breathing. Ill-fitted bras can restrict the rib cage and put pressure on muscles, which can cause breathing problems.*2

#3 Sagging. Your bust has no muscle. Breasts are held up by fragile ligaments that attach breast tissue to muscles. Over time, unsupported ligaments will be stretched and weakened; causing sagging that cannot be reversed.

#4 Posture. Unsupported breasts cause slouching and inwardly rounded shoulders that will stretch out your rhomboids and also lead to tight pectorals.

#5 Circulation. Problems can develop when the pectoral muscles in the chest are compressed, affecting the neurovascular bundle of nerves to the arms causing a pins and needles sensation.*3

#6 Skin. Chaffing, rashes, and yeast infections may occur when the skin is irritated by too tight or too loose fitting bras.

#7 Breast tissue migration. With an incorrect fit, the breast tissue can be displaced by the ill-fitting bra to other areas, such as under the armpits, sternum, and even the back.

#8 Marks and grooves. Deep red marks and shoulder grooves can be indications of permanently damage to the shoulder tissue.

#9 Lymphatic System. Without proper support, lymphatic drainage is impeded, which interferes with cellular health.

#10 Digestion. A tight bra can obstruct the flow of the digestive system causing indigestion and can be linked to other digestive issues such as heartburn and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).*4

2 Minutes to Glowing Skin

Do you want to look younger and have glowing skin everyday? I know, dumb question.

In about 2 minutes every morning, you can look in the mirror to a more youthful, radiant face!

But first, there’s a few things to understand about your skin.

Did you know that it takes less than 30 seconds for chemicals to absorb into your skin?! Since your skin is your largest organ, it super important to pay attention to your skincare cleansers and lotions.

Do you know exactly what you are putting on your skin? I don’t just mean what brand you use but specifically and more importantly what is INSIDE (or not inside) that bottle of lotion or makeup?

If you already use & love skincare products that are pure, safe & beneficial for your skin, kudos to you! Seriously, you are ahead of the game.

If you don’t have a clue what you use or the nearest bar of soap is your answer…I’ll show you how in 2 minutes or less you can have the skin that’ll leave everyone around you wondering, “Did she or didn’t she?” (as in facelift, botox etc.)

2 minutes to glowing skin

My 2-minute, 5-step Skincare Regimen:

Step 1: Cleanser – choose a gentle daily cleanser that deep cleans without stripping your face of natural oils.

Step 2: Toner – A step often overlooked but its an important one because toning closes the pores. Use one made with witch hazel (not alcohol) to soothe skin and zap blackheads. I love my Arbonne toner because its a mist and can directly spray on my face – I don’t lose any precious product in the cotton ball!

Step 3: Serum – Do you like uneven, patchy or dull skin? Didn’t think so. Choose a serum that is not only full of antioxidants, vitamin but also peptides for younger, radiant and smooth.

Step 4: Eye Cream – a MUST have. Choose one that tackles it all – dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles. Use your ring finger and dab cream under eye (on that top part of cheek bone) and just under the eyebrow bone. its the weakest finger and your eye area is very delicate skin (do not want to pull or drag here!)

Step 5: Day / Night Cream – I recommend that Day cream include SPF to protect the skin for the sun’s rays. Also, choose a day cream that moisturizes to provide necessary hydration so skin doesn’t get too dry or oily.  At night use a moisturizer formulated to repair damage overnight. As you sleep your skin cells will renew and you will wake up with soft, velvety skin!

Key tips: For best results use products from the same line because they are meant to work together. Always use upward motion when putting on products – you want to work against gravity! And don’t forget your neck.

3 Simple Tips To Jumpstart Your Day


Does this sound familiar? 

It’s morning and the alarm goes off. You immediately hit snooze, grab your cell phone to see what’s happening on Facebook and check emails. 15 minutes later, you come out of the social media abyss, realizing you’re going to be late. As you rummage through your closet you begin to mumble that you “have nothing to wear” so you throw on an outfit you aren’t terribly thrilled about. And then as you try to leave the house, you can’t find your keys (or kid’s shoe/notebook…you get the idea.)  Basically, its mad chaos every morning, and feels like there’s no hope in sight!

Yes, I sadly admit, this was how my days usually started. Until I made some key changes.

Here’s the thing. Mornings don’t have to be stressful and definitely not chaotic either! Believe me that is a sure-fire way to feeling frustrated.

I don’t think I’ll ever be a morning person, and yet I absolutely LOVE the feeling I have when my morning is planned out and I’m able to move through it calmly.

Try these 3 tips. You’ll see that your overall mood will be lighter and your daily productivity will increase even double!

Because, how smooth your next morning and whole day will go actually depends on what you do (or don’t do) the night before.

Tip#1: Jot down your top 3 things you MUST do the next day.

Stick to 3 things MAX. Then identify your #1 priority. Putting your to-do’s down on paper gets them out of your head so you can relax and rest. If you go to bed without writing these down, not only will you most likely forget what you need to do tomorrow but you will also spend the night worrying instead of sleeping. This way, when you wake up in the morning, you will know exactly what needs to get done.

Tip #2 Set out your clothes for the next day.

This might sound like something your mom told you when you were a little kid in school. And yes, I do tell my kindergartner to set out her clothes at night too. But seriously, I do this myself every single night, and if I happen to fall asleep before doing this ONE thing, my whole morning is off. At night you have the time to try on different looks as well as make sure everything still fits and doesn’t need repair. I promise when you do this at night versus in the morning, you’ll see that you do actually “have something to wear.” (Darn! I know, I have no excuse wearing yoga pants. Unless I’m actually going to Yoga.)

Tip #3: Prepare your body for a good nights rest.

You probably already know that a good nights rest is important to having a good day. I bet you have a bedtime routine for you kids. Since they were very little babies you’ve been getting them ready for bed with a bath, pjs and then read a story (or something like that, right?) And you probably started this process earlier than the time you want them to be asleep so they aren’t cranky the next morning. But, how often do you actually follow through on preparing yourself for bed?

Just like kids, we can’t expect our body to shut down and get a good night’s rest when we are still wired from the days activities.

You’re thinking, who has the time for bedtime routine?! I get it.  Often my  routine” looked like this: quickly splashing water on my face, putting kids to bed (whew!), and finally open my laptop to work on projects until very late until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Definitely not a great way to set up my day.

Creating a routine is actually simple and once you start to implement you will find it easy to stick to. The key is to find what will work best for you. Maybe you like reading but never find time to do so. Well, now your NEW bedtime routine can include that.

Here’s an example: (1) nightly skincare regimen (aka not splashing your face!); (2) drink a glass of water or herbal tea; (3) read a few pages or chapter of a book.

When you carve out time, even just 20 minutes, for this every night you will find that you can actually go to sleep more relaxed and wake up refreshed. Yay!
